The Habanero Chilli is one of the worlds most popular peppers. They originate from the Amazonas region of South America, and have spread through Central America, Mexico, The Caribbean, and then onto some American states; such as Texas, California, and Idaho.
Popular in Mexican and Caribbean dishes like Chilli Con Carne, Jerk marinades, and salsas, this pepper is great with all meats, poultry, and seafood. It has a fruity, citrus-like flavour, and a floral aroma.
The 1999 World Record holder; this chilli averages between between 100,000 and 350,000 SHU. Although still very hot, it has long been overtaken by numerous chillies over the years, and is now considered palatable by most people who like a good heat kick to their food, but not so hot it overpowers the overall taste of their meal.
